Myrtle Mae Beaver Walsh, age 77, of Murphy, NC passed away Friday, April 13, 2012 at Valley View Care Center in Andrews, NC.
She was a native of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late John Waco and Edith E. Smith Beaver. Myrtle was a homemaker and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed sewing and embroidering.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Riley Walsh Sr, an infant son and a daughter, Katie Sue Ramsey.
She is survived by her son, George Riley Walsh, Jr. and his wife, Juanita of Murphy, NC, a daughter, Vivian Ann Walsh of Murphy, NC, five brothers: Cecil Beaver and special sister-in-law Ann of Blairsville, GA, Claude Beaver of Blue Ridge, GA, Grady Beaver of Morganton, Calvin Beaver of Chatsworth, GA and Edward Beaver of Morganton, GA, one sister, Corina Elliott of Blue Ridge, GA, three grandchildren, Norma Jean Worthey, Dodie Ray and Charity Hope Walsh , two great grandchildren: April Worthey and Melody Payne and five great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Tony Raxter will officiate. Burial will be in the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alvin Beaver, Brad Beaver, Andrew Ballew, Franklin Heaton, David Yonce and Scott Guthrie.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Townson Rose Funeral Home.
