WARREN HOY KILLED BY GAS
Warren A. Hoy, aged 23, lost his life in Brookside Colliery, Tower City, last Friday night, from the effects of the deadly mine gas. Hoy and four companions had come out where they would have been safe but thought that one man was still in the zone of danger and went back to rescue him and thus lost his own life while the other man got out safely.
He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Marie Bender.
On Tuesday his body was taken to Millersburg where services were held in Trinity Reformed church by Rev. Slinghoff of Tower City, interment being made in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hoy was in service during the great war.
