Yvonne Livingston Dulany, 88, of Kilmarnock died on April 26, 2012. A native of Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Wilber Clements and Ruth Chenoweth Livingston. Mrs. Dulany was a graduate of Annapolis High School and attended the University of Richmond and was a lifelong Democrat. She and her husband have been residents of Kilmarnock since 2004.
After raising her family and residing almost 20 years along the Severn River in Severna Park, Maryland, Mrs. Dulany began many years as a dedicated volunteer in many capacities in several locations. Among these were the Riverside Hospital in Tappahannock, Va., Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, N. C., hospitals and nursing homes in Delaware, Meals on Wheels in Urbanna, Va., The Mayfair House in Kilmarnock, Va., Lancaster Community Library in Kilmarnock, Va., and as a reading tutor in both In Delaware and Virginia.
Mrs. Dulany was a lifelong and devoted friend to animals, adopting and giving homes to many strays everywhere she lived. She was also very active with local spay and neuter programs.
As another aspect of her legacy, Mrs. Dulany has stated "we have improved every home we have resided in."
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Walter G. "Pete" Dulany; two daughters, Margaret A. "Lissa" Dulany of Atlanta, Ga. and Tracey Dulany Moody and husband, Carlton; a grandson, Carlton Moody, Jr. all of Midlothian, Va.; two cousins, Betty Chenoweth Shelton and David Chenoweth both of Baltimore, Md.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 30 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Kilmarnock. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
