"Last Rites Held at Bancroft for Delbert Wampole"
Bancroft, Wis.--Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Baptist church for Delbert Wampole, 71, who died at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, january 5 at the home of his step-mother, Mrs. George Wampole, after being confined to his bed the past four weeks. The Rev. Mr. Randall of Plainfield officiated and interment was in Pine Grove cemetery.
Delbert Wampole was born December 30, 1866 in the town of Dakota, Waushara county, the son of George and Katheryn Wampole. When 12 years old he moved with his parents to Merrillan where he married Ollie Tenant and lived there for 44 years. He leaves two children, Bert Wampole of Sycamore, Ill., and Mrs. Alice Sickle of LaCrosse, his aged mother in Madison, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Tennant of Madison, and two brothers, John and Robert Wampole of Fairchild. His wife died in 1930 and his father preceded him in death several years ago.
Relatives here for the funeral were Bert Wampole and Mr Matticca, Sycamore, Ill.; Robert Wampole, two daughters and Mr. and Mrs. Gunderson, Fairchild; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Cassidy, Mr. and Mrs James Cassidy and daughter, New Lisbon; Mrs. Minnie Bugh, Hancock, and Fred Lord and son, Adams.
Pallbearers were Arthur Shelburn, Ora Sherman, Charles Cornwell and Clarence Beader."
