Carleton Frederick Fyler, before his retirement in 1925 a department supervisor in the New York Central Railroad car shops at Linndale, died yesterday at his home, 427 Beech Street, Berea.
Mr. Fyler, 80, died in the home which he built and to which he took his bride, the former Maude Mills of Berea, in 1895. They observed their golden wedding anniversary there.
Mr. Fyler, a native of Berea, was a graduate of Berea High School and attended Baldwin-Wallace College. He entered the employ of the New York Central as a young man.
Surviving him, besides his wife, are a son, Everette of Schenectady, N.Y.; a daughter, Mrs. Lyle E. chambers of Berea, and a sister.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Davis funeral home, Berea. Burial will be in Woodvale Cemetery there.
