After he retired, he enjoyed gardening and canning his produce, and always had plenty to share with family ad friends. He also enjoyed planting fruit trees in his backyard and was proud of the fruit harvested each year.

Glenn enjoyed having coffee and eating at Spuds Cafe, where he would spend time visiting with the many "regulars" who became his friends. Another favorite pastime was his love of garage sales.
Glen's roots were in Minnesota so he traveled there to see family and old friends. He was very independent and many of these trips were "spur of the moment", so it was always a surprise to his family when he arrived. He last visited McIntosh, MN Thanksgiving 2008.
