Edna M. Bentley 1952-2012 POWNAL Edna M. Bentley, 60, a resident of Route 346 in Pownal, passed away Monday April 24, 2012 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Edna was born in Pownal on January 12, 1952 the daughter of the late Clarence and Laura (Woodard) Hurley and attended Pownal and Bennington schools. Edna worked as a machine operator for Stanley Tools for many years. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, listening to country music and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Edna is survived by her daughter Cherie Bentley of Pownal, her step-sons; Norman Bentley, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Bennington and Leo (Sam) Bentley of Pownal, her brothers; Ralph Hurley of Pownal, Clarence and Robert Hurley of Cambridge, N.Y. and Hank Hurley of Hoosick Falls, N.Y., her grandchildren; Matt, Norm, Beverly and Mikayla Bentley, her great grandchildren; Cody, Brionna and Kayleigh Bentley and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman Bentley, Sr. whom she married in Pownal on May 15, 1982. Mr. Bentley passed away September 3, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her step-son Ernie Bentley, her step-daughter Brenda Bentley and her brothers Wally and James Hurley. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Edna will be held Saturday morning April 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home 213 West Main Street Bennington, Vt. Interment will follow in the family lot in Oakhill Cemetery in Pownal. There are no visiting hours.
