Arthur H. Cheney, Retired Realtor, Dies at 81
Arthur H. Cheney, 81, 517 South Kenilworth, died suddenly Monday, after a fall suffered while repairing a window in the attic of his garage.
Born in Traer, Iowa, in 1873. Mr. Cheney had made his home in the village for 42 years. He had been a Chicago real estate broker, retiring 20 years ago.
He was the husband of the late Frances E. Cheney, who died in 1939, and the father of Mrs. H. Gertrude Scott of LaGrange, Bryon F. J., of the home address, Arthur M., of LaVerne, Calif., Howard M. Cheney of Arcadia, Calif., and Mrs. Nadine E. Clark of Catlin. Ill. Also surviving are nine grandchildren.
Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at 1 p.m., at Postlewait chapel. The Rev. Virgil M. Cosby will conduct the services followed by interment at Forest Home cemetery.
