Erected to the memory of Anthony Brown second son of William Brown, Farmer in Garrarie who was drowned near Cape Horn on the 31st March 1850 aged 18 years
And of his eldest daughter Jane Sloane Brown who died 16th March 1863 aged 32 years
And of his son Alexander Sloane Brown who died 22nd November 1867 aged 31 years
Also the above William Brown who died 21st January 1873 aged 75 years
Also Mary Sloane wife of the said William Brown who died at Whithorn the 17th May 1876 aged 74 years
Also Peter Sloane Brown, farmer in Balsmith son of the above William Brown who died there 11th May 1906 aged 67 years
Also Mary Smith Brown daughter of the above William Brown who died at Balsmith 15th June 1912 aged 78 years
Also Margaret Hannah McCredie neice of the above Mary Smith Brown who died 30th October 1954 aged 83 years
