Rebecca FURNAS, born April 19, 1764, in the Ridge, Newberry District, South Carolina, died June 27, 1842, in Miami County, Ohio, USA, and was buried in Union Cemetery.

Rebecca FURNAS, 1764-1842, married, March 1783, Newberry District, South Carolina, Samuel TEAGUE, 1759-1841, son of Elijah TEAGUE, 1726-1780, and of his wife, Alice [variant spelling: Alice, Ailsey, Alce] DAVIS, 1726-1791.

To their marriage, eleven (11) children are known, including:

daughter, Mary TEAGUE, 1783-1825, md. Moses KELLY, 17 Sept. 1780;
daughter, Rebecca TEAGUE, 1784-1842, md. William JAY, 27 Apr 1824;
daughter, Lurannah TEAGUE, 1786-1863; md. James COATE, 28 Oct. 1807;
daughter, ALCE TEAGUE, 1788-1865; md. John STEDDOM, 27 Feb. 1811;
daughter, Esther TEAGUE, 1790-1826; md. John COATE, 30 Aug. 1809;
son, Joseph TEAGUE, 1792-1809;

In 1805, Samuel TEAGUE, 1759-1841, migrated northward, to Ohio, and later into Miami County, Ohio, by 1806.

Several of Samuel and Rebecca's descendants moved to Indiana, as evidenced by the certificates of transfer to monthly meetings in various parts of Indiana as cited in Hinshaw's Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy, in Volume V.
