Raymond Kilgore, 97, of Independence, MO, passed away March 23, 2004, at Regency Care Center. Funeral services will be in Parthenon, AR at the Parthenon Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27. Visitation will be at the church 1 p.m. until service time. Mr. Kilgore will lie-in-state Friday, March 26, at the Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, AR. Mr. Kilgore was born May 6, 1906 at Low Gap, AR, to Asberry and Bessie Rice Kilgore, the eldest of six boys and five girls. He resided in Parthenon from 1945-1952 and 1971-1998, where he raised beef and cattle until the age of 92. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Eula, son Harold, brothers Guy, Clifford and Freeman, and sisters Rosalie and Eileen. He is survived by son Obid and wife, Chari; daughter-in-law Naomi; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers; three sisters; a host of relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Fairmount Christian Church Elevator Fund, 641 S. Ash Avenue, Independence, MO 64053 or to Parthenon Baptist Church, Gen. Del., Parthenon, AR 72666.
