V.B. "Bunk" Byrket, age 91, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2001, at his residence in Seymour, Texas. Services were held at the First Baptist Church. Reverend Glenn Shock officiated. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

V.B. Byrket was born July 30, 1910 in Baylor County, Texas.

He and Claudia Jannette Fancher were married August 25, 1933.

Bunk worked as a carpenter with E.L. "Hawk" Byrket until 1971. He served as Justice of the Peace for Baylor County from 1971 until 1986 when he retired. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by: his wife, Jannette Byrket of Seymour; three daughters, Roxie Ann Lanningham and husband, Charles of Arlington, Texas, Wanda Jean Whitson of Euless, Texas, and Nettie "Jo: Petty and husband, Gale of Seymour; one son, Eddy Bostick Byrket and wife, Edith of Grapevine, Texas; one sister, Oleta Hayley of Wichita Falls, Texas; eight grandchildren, Donna and Guy Spikes, Daphna and Bob Simpson, Jeffery and Laura Lanningham, Kyle Lanningham, Charla Whitson, Charles and LaDonna Whitson, Bradley and Tammy Petty, Dianna and Jody Moore; 14 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Spikes, Jonathan Simpson, Timothy Simpson, Kendra Moore, Trevor Moore, Cullen Monaco, Bradleigh Petty, Devin Whitson, Ross Grimmitt, Taylor Whitson, Cody Amason, Reece White and Meredith Lanningham.
