Stephen was the son of Abraham and Susanna (Smith) Henricks. He married 1st to Mary Jane Lightfoot in 1850, after her death, he married Elizabeth Dilliner in 1859.
He served with the Union Army during the Civil War in Co.E, 42nd Reg't Indiana Volunteers.

INTO THE GREAT BEYOND

An Aged Citizen Near Kempton Answers The Final Summons After a Short Illness

On Sunday night at 8:30 o'clock at his home near Kempton, occured the death of Stephen S Henricks, his death being due to Bright's disease and coming after only a few days illness, he taking to his bed on last Friday.
The deceased was 80 years of age and had resided in that community for some time, being well known. He leaves the following children: Mrs. Priscilla Fisher, Mrs. Max Storms, Thomas and Ollie Henricks of the Kempton neighborhood, William Henricks and Richard Henricks of Indianapolis. There is one granddaughter in Kansas.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, the remains being taken to Indianapolis for internment at the Greenwood
