Harold Dean Adams, 74, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 3, 2006 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cline and Ruth Adams; sister, Edith Caldwell; and brothers, Gerald, Lawrence and Wayne Adams. Harold is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy Adams; son, LTC(R) Bryan Adams; daughter, Betsy Martin and her husband, Tim; two granddaughters, Carly and Caryn Martin; sister, Shirley and husband, Bruce Harnsberger; brother, Aubrey Adams and wife, Martha; and extended family and friends. He proudly served his country for 32 years in the US Navy and the Seabee Reserves. He retired from G.E. with 40 years of service to raise cattle on his farm in Craig County. A funeral service celebrating Harold's life, officiated by the Rev. Philip Bottomley, will be held at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, 4909 North Lake Drive, Roanoke on Tuesday, November 7, 2006. A graveside service will take place at Crossroads Church Cemetery adjacent to Cross Roads Christian Church, Rt. 615, in Craig County at 2 p.m. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 6, 2006 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem.
