JANE MASON
Jane Mason, daughter of Thomas and Martha ("Patsy") Hollenback, was born in Pike county, Ohio, January 13, 1812, and died November 27, 1902, being at the time of her death 90 years, 10 months and 14 days old.
She came with her father to Gill township, Sullivan county, Indiana, in the fall of 1816, where she continued to make her home until 1893 when she came with her son, W. H. Poston, to Sullivan, Indiana.
She was married to James Poston in 1833 and to this union was born eight children, six sons and two daughters, all of whom have preceded her to the Great Beyond except John L. Poston of Palestine, Illinois, and W. H. Poston of Sullivan. Her husband, James Poston, died in 1849.
She was married to James Madison Mason in 1853. This union was blessed with two children, a daughter and a son, both of whom together with their father died many years ago. Jane Mason joined the M.E. Church when quite young in which she lived a faithful and active member during her long and patient life.
She leaves two children, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and a host of friends to mourn her loss. She has been an invalid for the past five years, and during all that time she bore her affliction with great patience, never murmuring or complaining. She always seemed content with her lot, placing implicit confidence in her Savior, saying that she was ready and willing to go whenever it pleased the Lord to call her.
Interment at Webb Cemetery, Bro. Willis of New Lebanon, preached the sermon.
