NEWSBOY FOUND BODY OF MAN
George Hudson, 74, Former Tipton Man, Thought to Have Died Wednesday
FUNERAL HELD TODAY
Unable to get any response to his knocking and curiosity causing him to make an investigation, a small newsboy at Kokomo Sunday morning, who had been in the habit of leaving a Sunday paper for George Hudson, 74, long time resident of Tipton, shoved open the door and was horrified to find the man dead in his home. The startled youngster gave the alarm and the body was removed to an undertaking establishment. Later Sunday the Leatherman ambulance went to Kokomo and brought the body to Tipton to be prepared for burial services to be held at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Loren Cottingham, 365 North Conde Street, this afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. George D. Foster officiating with burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Coroner Morrison of Kokomo who investigated found that death had been caused from heart trouble and that the man had been dead for several days. Neighbors report that Mr. Hudson had not been seen about his home on South Webster Street, where he resided alone, since Wednesday, and it is thought death occurred Wednesday night.

George Hudson for many years resided in Tipton and was a long time employed at the Nickle Plate coal docks, having charge of the old docks of the Lake Erie before the road was sold. About 10 years ago he left Tipton, going to Kokomo, where he has been employed by the Pottery Works. Monday Mr. Hudson was at Anderson to visit his sister, Mrs. Rosa Hamilton, who is very ill and stopped on his way back and ate supper and visited at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Loren Cottingham in Tipton. At that time he was not complaining of feeling badly.

George Hudson was born on a farm east of Arcadia, September 5, 1853 and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Hudson, pioneer residents of that community. He came to Tipton when a young man and was employed in the old stave and heading factories here and later with the railroad. He was united In marriage with the widow of Sol Hedrick, her death occurring about 12 years ago.

To this union one daughter Mrs. Loren Cottingham was born. He Is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Hamilton of Anderson and Mrs. Martha Lewark of Marion and several step children, they being Henry Hedrick and Mrs. Mary Short of Tipton; Mrs. Eva Glass of Indianapolis and Mrs. Mort Crussore of Muncie.
