"WORCESTER - Abbie Hanor, widow of Willis Waid died at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown, Saturday morning at 2:30. Mrs. Waid had been in failing health for some time and was taken to the hospital, Wednesday, December 28th, but she gradually grew weaker. She has left an abiding impression upon the hearts of those who are dear to her and to her family many precious and tender memories. Funeral services were held from the home on Water St., Tuesday afternoon, January 3rd, at 2 o'clock, the Rev. L. C. Jones of the Baptist church, officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Waid was born in the town of Maryland about eighty years ago, a daughter of Ethan B. and Clarinda (Bunn) Hanor. She was united in marriage at Worcester, March 7, 1877 to Willis Waid, who died about two months ago. She had been a resident of the village about fifty years, residing for a long time on the Waid farm, just west of the village, and later moving into town. Surviving are one son, Harry G. residing on the old homestead and Miss Florence Hanor Waid, who taught for several years in Oneonta High school."
