Darrell Lee Bradshaw was born August 24, 1943 in Caney, Kansas to Fred and Lavella (Fiscus) Bradshaw. He grew up in Caney, and graduated with the high school class of 1961. He was an accomplished trumpet player in the Caney High Band and during his senior year he went to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs for an audition. He was accepted and after graduation, he toured four years with an Air Force band.
He earned an engineering degree and a masters degree in mathematics from Illinois University.
He married Karen Prosin in Chicago, Ill. on April 16, 1975. They were later divorced. He married his present wife, Gladis in 1995 and she survives. He is also survived by 3 sons, 1 daughter, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. He was preceded in death by his father in 1960, a sister in 1975 and his mother in 1989.
