Mr. Ivey died Sunday, April 22, 2012. Born in Florence, SC, he was a son of the late George and Lillian Worrell Ivey. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and was retired from Auto Owners Insurance and Global Travel Agency. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Les was very passionate about shagging in Ocean Drive and was a member of the Living Legends Club. He also loved his 1957 Tomato-red Chevy.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Payne Ivey of Hartsville, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Howard L. "Chip" (Vicki) Ivey of Gastonia, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Allison (Brian) Melborne of Charlotte, NC; stepdaughter, Beth Haley of Hartsville, SC; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Ivey.
