Martha and Wesley took to raise the daughter of their son Ernest Henry, Mary Elizabeth, after his abandonment of the baby.

The death occurred yesterday morning at his residence in Fenton Street, of an old resident of the town in Wesley Burr, in his 82nd year. The deceased, who was born in Launceston, was well known on the Coast. He came to Devonport about 25 years ago, and had since been living in "Wesley Cottage" in Fenton Street. His wife predeceased him many years ago. He had been a miller by trade. A scattered family of four sons and five daughters survive him. The funeral will leave his late residence for the Bluff cemetery at 3 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon.
