Los Angeles, California, Greeley CO, and AP news reported that August T. Unfug Jr. shot & killed his mother Dora Merrills Hayden Unfug as she slept, he then turned the gun on himself. Both died. It was reported that August T. Unfug Jr. was suffering from Post Traumatic Shock (shell shock) due to the war. Their bodies were brought back from Los Angeles, CA, to Walsenburg for burial.
