William "Son" Overton Day was born on June 21, 1913, in District of Columbia. He had two sons and five daughters with Alice Irene "Nanny" Washington. He died on July 27, 1975, at Mary Washington Hospital while living Flat Run Road in Orange County, Virginia, at the age of 62, and is buried at Pilgim Church Cemetery.
