Larry was born on the family farm located in New Haven Twp., Osborn Rd. We lived in Hamtramck, MI in a trailer court during the war (Dad, Clair worked at Murray Aircraft in Detroit) when the war ended we moved back to the farm. Larry started school at the old "Number Nine", located about 1-1/2 miles from the farm. Everyone walked to school (no school buses back then for country schools). After 2-3 years, the school burned down just a few days before Halloween, 1949. He graduated from the 8th grade at the Sumner school and graduated high school from Fulton.
At 19, he married Janet Yvonne Salisbury, Dec 6 1958, at the Middleton church. Later, they moved to California for about 2 years, then came back to Michigan. He started his own tv repair service, worked for Motor Wheel at Lansing and attended Lansing Community College. Later he became head electrician for Motor Wheel and was there until his health began to fail.
Earlier days, in the summertime he would take his family camping up "North". His favorite past time was riding his motorcycle with Janet. When the kids were grown, they would take trips with the bike all over Michigan and out West.
Children - Chris Allen, Carrie Jo, Michael Ray and Brian Scott
