WILLIAM J. BERRY FUNERAL AT STROUD
Father of Mrs. Earl E. Waters and Former Resident of City
Funeral services for William J. Berry, whose death occurred Monday evening at Yale, Okla., from paralysis, were to be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at Stroud by Rev. Murphy, pastor of the Christian church of Yale, Okla. He
suffered the stroke of paralysis which caused his death August 16th, 1927.
Mr. Berry was a resident of Cushing for several years and is the father of Mrs. E. E. Waters of this city. Other surviving relatives are two daughters, Mrs. Lesta Logan of Yale, Mrs. Lucille Stubbs of Dodge City, Kans., and a son,
Mr. Louis Berry of Oklahoma City, six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ada Blakemore of Gallatin, Tennessee.
Born in Wayne Co., Tenn., the only son of Capt. and Mrs. Joseph G. Berry, on February 16th, 1858, he was reared in Tennessee. On Oct. 23rd [newspaper did not print the year of marriage], he was united in marriage to Miss Lou Dora Ramsay at Ashland, Tenn. Mrs. Berry died on June 4th, 1901, at Stroud, Okla.
Coming to Oklahoma thirty years ago, and first settling at Tecumseh, Okla., and moving later to Yale where he lived more than twenty years. In November 1906 he was married to Miss Annorah Mann, now a resident of Tulsa, Okla.
Although of a retiring nature, the deceased has many staunch friends who join is children in sorrow over his loss. A number of Cushing people attended the services at Stroud.
