Rose Marie Dorothy (Freix) Feldt

Green Bay - Rose Marie Dorothy (Freix) Feldt, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her family, just three days after her 99th birthday. She was born December 16, 1919, in Green Bay, to the late Julian and Barbara (Zellner) Freix.

On November 29, 1944, Rose Marie married George Feldt at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Green Bay. Shortly after, George served in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. During this time, Rose Marie walked every day to her job at Kraft Cheese Company, working there until George returned and they started a family. Rose Marie was a devoted homemaker, sewing clothing for her children and grandchildren for many years. She had a vegetable garden and was famous for her flowers throughout the yard, especially her geraniums. Her porch was a focal point of beauty because of her geraniums. Rose Marie and George were founding members of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Green Bay, and she volunteered in the parish office for many years. They were also founding members of the Green Bay Outboard Club and were avid members of the Holiday Ramblers Campers Club. The two traveled throughout Europe and stayed over in other peoples' homes as part of "People to People". They also spent much of their time at the cottage they built on the bay.

Rose Marie is survived by her three children; Dennis (Kathleen "Kitty") Feldt, Linda (Rick) Fontaine, Wendy Gonzales; grandchildren, Sam Feldt, Gretchen (Dan) Budinger, Brad Feldt, Stacey (Bryan) Rohm, Heather (Matt) Wendland, Joel Gonzales, Holly Gonzales; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack (Lois) Freix; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; son-in-law, James Gonzales; mother-in-law, Frances Taylor; sister-in-law, Jeanette (Wes) Quamme; brother-in-law, Jerry (Ramona) Feldt.
