John Rentzheimer Bachman was born October 4, 1884, in Lower Saucon Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania, the son of Titus Overbeck Bachman and Mary Jane Rentzheimer. His grandparents were John Weaver Bachman and Ellevina Overbeck Bachman, as well as Jacob Rentzheimer and Elizabeth Ehrhart Rentzheimer. He married on November 30, 1905, in Hellertown, Northampton County, to Mary Louisa Ruth, daughter of Milton Deemer Ruth and Amanda Campbell Trauger. They were the parents of 2 daughters: Irene Ruth and Joan Louise Bachman. John passed away October 23, 1951, in Hellertown, and was buried in Hellertown Union Cemetery there.
