Born in Menallen Township, he was the son of the late Charles and Rosie Starner Starner.
Mr. Starner was a self employed farmer his entire life. He was a member of Benders Lutheran Church, Biglerville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Mae Bricker, who departed this life in 1992 and is survived by two sons, Lauren W. Starner of Gettysburg and Doyle L. Starner of Minersville; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Murtoff of Gardners and Marion Black of Biglerville; and one brother, Ralph Starner of Gardners.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Beulah Hewitt and Ethel Fetters; and five brothers, Grover Starner, Richard Starner, James Starner, Clyde Starner, and Howard Starner.
