Son of Levi and Anna (Bailey) Smith

Alson B Smith was born in Fulton township, Gratiot Co, on January 21, 1865 and died on Nov. 1, 1925. He was ill briefly from a complication of diseases.

He married Miss Addie M Irish on July 20, 1881. They had two daughters, Mrs. Elta Cameron and Mrs. Joseph Dawe of Deckerville.

Mr. Smith was in the implement business for several years prior to 1907. For 15 years he had been employed by the Owosso Sugar Co as field man at various points. A year ago they returned to St. Louis and resided at their farm north and east of the city.

He was a member of the St. Louis Lodge, F & AM, RAM, R& SM and Magnetic Lodge IOOF.

The funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church on Tuesday afternoon under the auspices of the Masonic Fraternity. Interment took place in the family lot in Oak Grove Cemetery.
