Sylvia Jane (Harvey) Fraizer was the daughter of James & Margaret (Canaday) Harvey. She married Oct 4, 1853, in Henry Co., IN, Abram Fraizer (according to official records--her obituary says Oct. 3)

"The New Castle (IN) Courier, Friday, Augsut 30, 1895
Sylvia Jane Fraizer was born in Henry county, August 1, 1834 and died August 24, 1895, aged 61 years and 23 days. Deceased was the daughter of James and Margaret (Cannaday) Harvey who were the first settlers of Prairie township. They reared a family of three sons, Joel, Nathan, and Absalom, and four daughters, Nancy, Mary Ann, Jane and Eliza. the deceased are Eliza, Absalom, and the subject of this sketch.

Sylvia Jane Harvey was married Oct. 3, 1853, to Abram Fraizer. they have reared a family of six children, Perry, James, Alvin and Elmer, Mrs. Ella Bowers and Mrs. Frona Jeffries. Elmer, the youngest, died in 1889 in the 20th year of his age.

She was a faithful member of the Blue River Christian Church for over thirty years. Too much cannot be said in praise of the character and life of this dear sister, wife and mother. While her work has not been of a public nature, her earnest devotion at church service, her untiring love and care bestowed upon her children, and duty as a wife, for nearly forty-three years they have traveled life together, and her love and respect for her relatives, friends and neighbors, all testify to her goodness of heart and character. As above stated her work was not of a public nature even in church, but no good mother of Israel enjoyed better hearing songs of praise sung, and of hearing the word of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, preached to the people, and of seeing individuals come to Jesus, than she.

She leaves a husband, three sons and their wives, two daughters, five grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters to mourn.

Funeral services were conducted at the Hillsboro church Monday morning by Rev. W. W. Witmer of New Castle, and the remains were interred in the cemetery near by."
