CORRIGAN – Funeral services for Clarence Everett "Pete" Smith, 74, of Corrigan were held Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Don VanZandt and Bro. Phil Corbett officiating. Interment followed in Stryker Cemetery, Corrigan.
Mr. Smith was born April 17, 1933 in Cherokee County, Ala. and died Friday, Oct. 19, in Corrigan.
He was retired from Skrla Road Construction as a supervisor. Mr. Smith was a Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Ovis and Dovie Highfield Smith and brother, A.T. Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Smith of Corrigan; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Kyle and Vicki Jesse of Houston, Lester and Heide Lee of North, Va., Jimmy and Charlotte Lee of Pollok, Joel Jesse of Houston and David and Deidra Cross of Hudson; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Bonita and Shannon Mettlen of Huntington; brother, Gary Smith of Houston; sister, Shirley Mobbs of Houston; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
