Iva L. Goodell Lake Oswego - Iva L. Goodell, 97, died Friday. She was born in Fairfield, near Salem and was raised in the Salem area. She lived on a farm in the French Prairie area until moving to Newberg in 1940. She later lived in Tigard, Keizer and Lake Oswego. She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed cooking and canning. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Newberg. She married David J. Goodell in 1922, he died in 1971. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Torland of King City; sons, Virgil J. Brown of Springfield and Robert Whitby of Salem; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Valley View Memorial Park, Newberg.
