T. C. ARNETT DEAD - T. C. Arnett of East Park ave, aged 71yrs, who had been seriously ill for 4wks of pneumonia, died yesterday evening at abt. 6pm. He was born in Arnettsville in Monongalia county on Aug 28, 1834, where he was also reared, In Oct 1858 he married to Miss Hannah Trippett of Lewesville. Mr. Arnett soon after enlisted in the Confederate army in which he served for 2yrs from 1863 to 1865. His life since that time had been divided between Wetzel county and Buffalo creek near Farmington of this county, until a little over a year ago when he moved with his family to this city. The last active work performed by him was the tearing down and removing of the Company house on Water street, badly burned recently, and it is thought that while thus engaged he contracted from overwork, heat and dust, the disease which finally carried him away. Although well up in years, he was well preserved, energetic, sturdy and strong and never knew what real sickness was from personal experience, until his recent attack. The funeral services will be held from the M.E. church South, tomorrow conducted by Rev. Robert Thomas Webb, the pastor. Interment will follow at Woodlawn cemetery. He leaves a large circle of relatives besides his immediate family which consist of 2 sons and 4 daughters, namely : D.S. Arnett of this city and Dr. C.T. Arnett of Rivesville, Mrs Paris M. Henry of Athens, OH, Mrs Annie Yeater of Mannington and Miss Sudie and Miss Lilly, who are single.
