First English Lutheran Church was the scene of the marriage of Miss Lois E. Culler and Lewis J. Barr Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, Rev. Henry C. Roehner saying the impressive words that made the young couple husband and wife. The attendants were Miss Lenore Culler, twin sister of the bride, Miss Cleora Barr, sister of the groom and Messrs. Charles Oberlin and Edward Kissel. Following the ceremony, the bridal party motored to the home of the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Culler who live on the North Main Road. A reception and dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Culler for the bridal party and the members of the immediate families of the newly married pair, and the following guests: Mrs. A. H. Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Climker of Perrysville; Mrs. M. L. Culler, Misses Alma, Ruth and Alice Culler, of this city. The house was attractively decorated with cut flowers and potted plants and the dinner table was beautifully adorned. Mr. and Mrs. Barr departed for a visit in Michigan.

Lois E. Culler Barr McFarland, 99, of Goodrich, formerly of Lucas, Ohio and Lexington, Ohio died Saturday morning May 14, 2005 in her daughter's Goodrich home, following a short illness. She was born September 28, 1905 in Richland County, Ohio to James and Grace (Wilson) Culler, and spent the first 50 years of her life in the Lucas, Ohio area.
A homemaker and farmwife, in 1955 she moved to the Lexington, Ohio area, and then ten years ago she relocated to Michigan. Lois was a member of First Alliance Church, Mansfield, Ohio. Blessed with the spiritual gifts of kindness, patience and generosity, she leaves her family the legacy of her Godly example and her love for the Lord. Her Bible was most often found on her lap, rather than on her shelf, as she was devoted to its reading. Her sweet spirit was evident in her daily gratefulness for God's goodness to her, and the tender loving care and attention she received from her daughter and son-in-law.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Maxine and Ralph McMahon of Goodrich; two sons and three daughters-in-law Kenneth G. and Nancy Barr of Bellville, Ohio and David B. "Bud" and Barbara Barr of Lexington, Ohio and Mary Barr of Yucca Valley, California; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband John Lewie Barr in 1974; her second husband Carl McFarland in 1982; two sons Theodore L. "Ted" Barr, and Russell E. Barr; five sisters including her twin Lenore Oberlin Wolford, Dorothy Kirk, Rosemary Sherrock, Miriam Wagner and Helen Fulwider; and a brother Luther Culler. The family will receive friends Monday, May 16, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Snyder Funeral Home 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio, 44904 (419-884-1711) where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am. Pastor Rich Geigert will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Cecil Nichols. Burial will follow in Caesarea Cemetery, Mansfield.
