Born April 21, 1917 in McSherrystown, Carroll was a son of the late Joseph C. and Sarah E. (Storm) Brady.
Mr. Brady was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Hanover, McSherrystown Moose, Republician Club, McSherrystown Home Association and the Hanover Eagles. He was employed with Mannly Valves in York, retiring at age 73 in 1990. His hobbies included fishing and reading newspapers.
Surviving are 5 daughters and 4 sons: Dawn Kuhn and husband Francis, East Berlin; Dorothy Loder, Hanover; Thomas Brady and wife Judy, Hanover; Kay Brady and husband Gordon, Hanover; Bradley Brady, Hanover; Norma Wagner and husband Chris, Hanover; Jo Ann Douglas and husband Richard, Lafayette, LA; Arlington Brady and girlfriend Caroline Stough, Hanover; Joseph Fabian Brady and girlfriend Tina Miller, Hanover; 3 brothers: Raymond Brady and wife Louise, Hanover; Jerome Brady and wife Mary, Gettysburg; Robert Brady and wife Kathryn, Lancaster; one sister; Corrine Heverly, Hanover; also 23 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by 1 daughter and 1 son: Sarah Brady, Carroll "Sam" Brady, Jr. and a son-in-law Robert Loder; 2 brothers: Donald and Richard Brady; 3 sisters: Lorena Brady, Evelyn Geiman and Bernadette Weaver.
A funeral mass to celebrate the life of Carroll F. Brady will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 23, 2012 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA 17331 with Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Thoms as celebrant. A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 – 10:30 AM at Wetzel Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 549 Carlisle Street, Hanover, PA 17331. We will process to church to arrive for mass. Burial will be in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, McSherrystown, PA.
