John Kyle Gordon of Mattawamkeag passed away at his home in that place, last Friday, at the age of 73 years, 4 months. He was born at Winn, but lived most of his life at Medway, moving to Mattawamkeag about one year ago. He was a man well liked by everyone, being of a quiet and genial disposition, and a man who made many friends. During his early life he was engaged in lumbering and farming but during the last few years had been unable to do the hard work on account of ill health.
He leaves to mourn their loss, besides his widow, Anna D., four sons, Harry and Fon of Mattawamkeag, Asher of Lincoln, and Fay of Medway, and one daughter, Mrs. C. L. Bridges of Glowgapo [sic], Philippine Islands; also three brothers and three sisters. The funeral was held from the residence Monday, S. N. Nevine officating.
