Scott Dudley Breckinridge, Jr. (1917-2000)(U.K. 1940, Law 1941) was the son of Dr. Scott Dudley (1882-1941)(Georgetown, DC, M.D. c1910) and Gertrude Ashby Bayne Breckinridge (1883-1981), of Washington, D.C. He was in the CIA, 1953-79 (deputy inspector general, 1973-79), was adjunct professor in the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky, 1980-86, was a lieutenant in the Navy in WWII, 1942-45, and author of various articles and three books, Swordplay (New York, 1941), The CIA and the U.S. Intelligence System (Boulder, Colo. 1986), and The CIA and the Cold War (Westport, Conn. 1993). His father was a surgeon and a colonel in the Army Medical Corps in WWI, 1917-19.
