Suzanne M. Stephenson, resident of San Jose, age 73, died April 23 at home with her family by her side in San Jose, CA. Suzanne was born May 1, 1937 in San Francisco, CA to Frank and Maxine Bleuss. Her father was the owner of Bleuss Meats in the Bernal Heights area of San Francisco. As a child, Suzanne and her brother Frankie spent time in the No. CA mtns. visiting relatives who owned Hobergs Resort. In 1955, Suzanne married her high school sweetheart Larry Stephenson. The newlyweds moved to San Jose where they started a family. Suzanne was a wife, mother and friend, with a generous heart and open-minded spirit. She enjoyed musical theater, sewing, quilting, crafting, gardening and cooking. She volunteered at a local grammar school teaching sign language and providing piano music in classrooms. Suzanne and Larry played a very active role at the Almaden Hills United Methodist Church, continuously since 1961. She gave her time generously to support many church activities. Suzanne is survived by her husband Larry of 55 years; her two daughters and their spouses, Vicki and Jim Dean, Karen and Jon Montoya; her two sons and their spouses, David and Patricia Stephenson, Michael and Janice Stephenson; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Almaden Hills United Methodist Church, 1200 Blossom Hill Road, San Jose, CA 95118. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to AHUMC at the above address, ATTN: Music Program or Joint Youth Ministry (JYM).
