Chico Daily Record, Saturday August 18, 1917, pg 6 col 5:

Mrs. J.C. Felsch of Butte City Dies.

Butte City, Aug. 17. – Mrs. J.C. Felsch passed away at her home west of Butte City. Anna Amelia Schultz was born in Soran, a suburb of Berlin, Germany, on June 10, 1851. On May 16, 1876, she was united in marriage to John Carl William Felsch. Two children were born to them while still in the fatherland. Both died in infancy. In 1881 Mr. and Mrs. Felsch settled in Chicago. Their union was blessed with four more children, the last of which died in infancy. The living children are Albert Charles of Woodland, Mrs. Bertha Louise Andrus of Whiting, Ind., and Mrs. Carrie Marie Grass of Tres Vias. The widower also survives.

Mr. and Mrs. Felsch were brought up members of the German Evangelical church, but when they came to make their home on the farm purchased near Butte City, there being no church of that denomination there, they united with the local Christian Church, of which they were faithful members.

The funeral services, conducted by Rev. T.J. O’Connor, were held at the family at 2 o’clock today.
