==========
Josiah Chatfield came to Mundy in June 1837 settling on section 10, presumably the same 80 acres later owned by Alvah Bigelow. He served as Twp. Assessor in 1838 and Justice of the Peace in 1842. His wife, Virtue, died in Feb 1844 at 55 yrs and probably was buried in the graveyard on section 10, then later with Josiah in Evergreen Cem. Their names appear on a tombstone like and beside that of Jairus & Lucinda Bigelow. A son, Cyrus G. Chatfield of section 15 at Mundy Centre, served several terms as Twp. Supervisor.
