Mrs Emma C Ellis, wife of Thomas P Ellis, of Lauramie township, died at St Elizabeth hospital Tuesday morning of cancer, following an operation. She was brought to the hospital four weeks ago and underwent an operation. She seemed to be getting along nicely until a few days ago when she suffered a relapse and gradually grew worse until the end came. Mrs Ellis was the oldest daughter of Richard and Frances Gladden, who died a number of years ago. She was born on May 5, 1854, and was married to Thomas P Ellis on October 25, 1885. To this union two children were born, Joseph G., who died over five years ago, and Ora Howard, who lives at Gladden's Corner. She also leaves two brothers, Mark P Gladden and William H Gladden, of Stockwell, besides a large number of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
