Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 11 at Serena Methodist Church for George E. Haas, 77, of Serena, who died Thursday at Woodward Memorial Hospital, Sandwich.

The Rev. Lloyd J. Lowe, church pastor, will officiate at the rites. Burial will be at West Serena Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hill-Flavin Funeral Home in Sheridan after 2 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Haas was born in Serena, Feb. 20, 1881, a son of Julian and Louisa Dolder Haas. He was married March 30, 1926 to the former Mary Scheppler. He resided in Serena all his life.

He was a farmer, a member of the Modern Woodman of America, and belonged to the Masonic Lodge of Sheridan. He had been town clerk for the past 40 years.

Surviving are his wife and one sister, Mrs. Edward (Clara) Hisler of Serena. He was preceded by two sisters and three brothers.
