Mrs. Louise Wilhelmina Hartje, 76, Leaf River, died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 1964 in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born April 3, 1887 in Ackley, Iowa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Kreimeyer. Lived 28 years in Leaf River, moving there from Leaf River Township. Married to William Hartje, Sr. in Ackley, Iowa on Jan. 28, 1909. Member of the Methodist Church of Leaf River, and of the American Legion Auxiliary of Leaf River, and the church's Ladies Aid Society.

Survivors include her husband; five sons, Rudolph, Arnold, Clifford, and William, Jr, and Alfred; eight daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Kilker and Mrs. Ruth Stukenberg, and Mrs. Irma Fry, Mrs. Esther Hamilton, Mrs. Alma Baker, Mrs. Agnes Baker, Mrs. Bernice Davis and Mrs. Lorraine Cheek; two brothers, Rudolph Kreimeyer, and Louis Kreimeyer; 40 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in Death by her parents and Four brothers.

Services at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Leaf River Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kilmer Knudson, pastor, officiating. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery, Freeport. Arrangements by Bakener-Morrison Funeral Home, Byron.
