Bryant Jones Kittrell is the son of Dr. William Jones Kittrell, native of North Carolina, and Elizabeth Martha(Cain) Kittrell, native of South Carolina. The Cain Family was originally from Ireland and the Kittrell Family was originally from England.

Dr. William Jones Kittrell, who graduated from the University of North Carolina and Mobile's Alabama Medical College was a Confederate Cavalryman in the Lenoir Independent Company - 1861, Matthew Rangers & Alabama 3rd Cavalry. He was killed in Action in 1863.

Dr. William Jones Kittrell was the father of eight children.

(1) Dr. Benjamin Franklin Kittrell served as Assistant Surgeon in Company G and on the Field & Staff of the 22nd Mississippi Infantry.

(2) Sarah B. Kittrell married Dr. Auson West.

(3) William P. Kittrell

(4) Mary N. Kittrell married E. E. Craig.

(5) Bryant Jones Kittrell was a well known merchant in Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama and one of it's leading citizens.

(6) Laura W. Kittrell married Dr. W. G. Stone.

(7) Alice H. Kittrell married Dr. M. C. Marshall.

(8) Dr. Robert Norman Kittrell, a graduate of Vanderbilt University, M.D., spent one year at the Nashville City Hospital and after his duties there, he went to Black Hawk and married Miss Cora Meek, daughter of Dr. R. D. Meek. After they were married they relocated to Gadsden, Alabama, and Dr. Robert Norman Kittrell established a practice in Gadsden for some length of time, before they moved to Mississippi


Byrant Jones Kittrell was the second husband of Nancy Barnette (Miller) Kittrell Pogue.

They were married on Nov. 17, 1870 in Wilcox County, Alabama, and they had six children together by their marriage:

(1) Nancy Barnette "Bonnie" Kittrell (Born 27 Dec 1873 AL - 23 July 1952 TX), she married Mr. Clark.

(2) Sarah Bryant Kittrell (27 Dec 1874 AL - 26 Apr 1960), she married Rev. Henry W. Williams.

(3) Mabel Norman Kittrell (30Dec 1876 AL - 26 Apr 1960 Alachua Co., FL), she married Charles Clarendon McAliley.

(4) Maude Pressley Kittrell (30 Dec 1876 AL - 13 Aug 1877 AL)

(5) Alice Marshall Kittrell (02 March 1880 AL - 13 Jan 1973 NC), she married Barnett McRee Spratt.

(6) Daisy Lu Kittrell (17 Sept 1871 AL - 1918 Gadsden, AL), she married George Staten Vann.
