Funeral service for Mrs. Sarah "Nell" Patterson, 85, of Alexander City, will be Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Wayside Baptist Church. Dr. Jason Rodgers and Rev. Michael Higgins, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

Mrs. Patterson passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Chapman Healthcare Center. She was born on January 2, 1927 in Chambers County, Alabama to John Edward Burton and Myrtis Sanders Burton. She was a member of Wayside Baptist Church and active in choir and WMU. Mrs. Patterson attended Union Hill and Milltown Schools and later worked for Russell Corp. for 23+ years. She loved her family, enjoyed visiting and caring for people, and was active in Monday School at Chapman's.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda P. Dennis (David) of Alexander City; son, David G. Patterson (Muriel) of Alexander City; grandchildren, Tyler Patterson (Shelley) of Auburn, Jonathan Dennis (Laura) of Huntsville, Whitney Miller (Eric) of Alexander City, and Beth Cosker (Josh) of Birmingham; great-grandchildren, Ayden Miller of Alexander City, Patrick Dennis of Huntsville, and Hudson Patterson of Auburn; brothers, Jack Burton of Camp Hill, and Ned Burton, Durward Burton (Lee), and Frank Burton (Janice) all of Dadeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Patterson and her parents.

The family will accept flowers but requests green plants only or memorial donations may be given to Gideon's, P.O. Box 117, Alexander City, AL 35011; American Cancer Society, 3054-C McGehee Road, Montgomery, AL 36111; or to Wayside Baptist Church General Fund, 21 Wayside Circle, Alexander City, AL 35010.
