Mr. Bartell died Monday in Lake City Hospital. Born in Florence County, he was a son of the late William Jasper Bartell and the late Ella Gaskins Bartell. He was a retired farmer and owner of Bartell's General Merchandise. He was a member of Indiantown Presbyterian Church, Deacon, and Elder Emeritus. He was also a graduate of Kingstree School.
Surviving are his wife, Ora Snowden Haselden Bartell of Hemingway; son, Clelmer K. Bartell of New Orleans; daughter, Carrie Wilson Bartell of Palmer Lake, Colo., five step-children. He was predeceased by two wives, Grace Wilson Bartell and Elizabeth Johnson Harmon Bartell.
