DM struck out on his own raising sheep northeast of Arbuckle. DM was later employed as stagecoach driver for the Williams/Bartlett Springs line shuttling posh affleuents to soak in the mineral baths. He later moved and built 2 houses with barns which became the town of Sites's first livery stable and feed store. He then bought a homestead from someone not too far from Hahn Rd and his driveway eventually became Miller Rd near the town of Arbuckle. It is near the (now) 2047 irrigation canal; a creek back then, that gave him a place to camp and be near water. He contributed a small part to Californias early history
