George W. BOTKIN, age 67, of Springfield, OH died unexpectedly at 12:07 p.m. August 21, 1995 in the emergency room at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born February 7, 1928 in New Carlisle, OH, the son of John and Barbara (nee MCAFEE) BOTKIN. He retired in 1982 as a group leader from Navistar after 30 years of service, was an avid golfer in the Springfield area, playing with the geritol group for many years and was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Jacqueline F. (nee KELEHER); children: Lori (Jay) CARPENTER, Randy L. (Debbie) BOTKIN of Springfield, Greg A. (Shelly) BOTKIN, Hollywood, FL; sisters, Elizabeth DEAN, Springfield, Mary ENTLER and Jeanne ADKINS, both of South Charleston, OH, Joan WILLIAMS Centerville, OH; grandchildren, Hilarie, Hayley, Colm, Caleb, Chris and Ryan; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rick A.; daughter, Vicki L; and a brother, Albert.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Conroy Funeral Home. It was at his request that he be cremated. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial in Glen Haven Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
