DORIS L. CALLAHAN
Doris L. Callahan, 81, widow of James L. Callahan, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Richland County, she was a daughter of the late Louie Caughman and Doris Chavis Caughman Hooker. Mrs. Callahan was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God. She was retired from Campbell Soup Co.
Survivors include her children, Patsy and Mickey Laird of Irmo, Janice and Bob Hawkins of Sumter, Judy and Charlie D. McFaddin of Alcolu, Julie and Ernie Frye of Manning, James and Theresa Callahan of Manning and Billy and Marilyn Callahan of Gaston; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lisha Mae Caughman of Hopkins.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Annette Windham.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Green Acres Assembly of God with the Rev. Donnie Collins, the Rev. Jim Palmer and the Rev. Robert Morris officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be James Callahan Jr., Adam Hawkins, Charlie D. McFaddin, Keith James Hammond, Manuel Troncoso and Orin Golson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 15 Glenwood Drive, Sumter.
