Herman Roscoe Bishop was the son of Walter Lee Bishop and Euphemia Catherine Mullins Bishop of Avery, Texas. He had one brother Marvin Lee Bishop whom is also deceased. Herman resided in Avery, Texas till his death. He retired from the Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant in Texarkana, Texas; he also was a hard working farmer who enjoyed boating, fishing and hunting in his leisure time. He was a honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WWII but never seeing any action. He was in field artillery serving as a gunner and served at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He was the husband of Sallie Mae Johnson Bishop also now deceased and the father of Martha Verlene Bishop Lee Duffee of Bogata, Texas and Wanda Joyce Bishop Colvins Tyler of Odessa, Texas as well as a son Wendell Clarence Bishop of Dekalb, Texas.
