Fredrick G. Hicks was born December 23rd 1903 in Maryland, to John Frederick Hicks and Rose Bell, the fourth of five children, and was the younger brother of actor Edward Russell Hicks. He married Catherine Elizabeth Ford, known as Libby, with whom he had two children, Sarah Elizabeth and Eleanor Gordon Hicks. He died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 36. Gordon was out at a bowling alley with some friends when he complained of pain and went outside for fresh air. It was outside that he collapsed and died. His wife was pregnant with their second child at the time. He is interred beside his wife and her second husband, in a family plot that also contained his wife's brother Lloyd Jermone, his wife, her two sisters and their husbands.
